What we’re about
This is a hiking group dedicated to dog-friendly hiking trails and spaces. The hiking pace will be at a leisurely rate to accommodate senior dogs, and folks are welcome to splinter into smaller packs if they need a faster/slower pace.
The majority of our hikes will take place in Sonoma County, with a few occasional hikes taking place in Contra Costa and Marin Counties. I highly recommend purchasing a Parks Pass, since it pays for itself after seven hikes.
The majority of will be between 45 – 90 minutes long, and will take place in the morning on weekends.
Please practice “Leave No Trace” etiquette while out hiking.
FAQ
1. Can I join if I do not have a dog?
Yes, you are still welcome to join the group and get your dog fix in
2. Can I walk my dog off-leash?
No. Unless I note an exception in the event description, assume ALL trails require your dog to be on-leash. Please respect the park rules and wildlife.
3. Why the stronger focus on Sonoma County?
Their Parks Program allows for public amenities such as parking spaces, public bathrooms, trash cans, and a higher number of dog-friendly trails at all their park spaces.
4. What is “Leave No Trace”?
The main rule to follow here is dispose of trash and pet waste in the available trash cans.
5. Will there be other hiking times available?
Events are dependent on the organizers volunteering their time to schedule and lead. Please reach if you are interested in being an event organizer to help add more hiking event times to our group calendar.
