Welcome to the Sunday after Thanksgiving (still need to walk off the mean) Hike to Purgatory Falls via Purgatory Brook Trail. I know I'll still need to recover from the eating.

I think I have done this the last couple of years on the Sunday after Thanksgiving **BUT** starting from different parking spots (none seem ideal). We will start with this loop, but also go down to the lower falls. Assume \~ 5 miles overall.

Parking at the end of "**Dow Road, Mont Vernon NH**" or if overflow is needed go a bit further north to "**Purgatory Road**, **Mont Vernon NH**"

Due to parking limits at trailhead, this event is limited to 16 attendees with one guest each. Well behaved pets are OK, but do let us know in the comments if you will bring one. [Again, this is a different lot from prior hikes here]

Event is weather dependent.

Please find the start time and a map to the location. Locations can change so check back before the hike to see if the default start location has been modified for the current hike. Hike description can be found here or in the comments section below.

ALL hikers should have proper footwear, water, a snack , and a light / headlamp. Layered clothing is important this time of year. We may have some light ice, snow. We may need microspikes, so good idea to have them at hand.

This is a loop with an out and back portion. We will follow the all trials path but then go to lower falls (pictured).

Guests are allowed and encouraged.

These hikes are led by a group of hosts who are familiar with the trail system and terrain (but I have not been here recently). There are occasions when there is no host available to lead the hike, hikes are cancelled in this instance. 978-257-7537 to contact Ralph.
