What is an Edit-a-thon?
“An edit-a-thon is an event where some editors of online communities . . . edit and improve a specific topic or type of content. The events typically include basic editing training for new editors and may be combined with a more general social meetup. The word is a portmanteau of “edit” and “marathon”. An edit-a-thon can either be “in-person” or online or a blended version of both.” These two Editathons take place in-person in Minneapolis, but you can take part in it virtually by signing up at this link. https://adopteesunited.org/wikipedia-editathons-october-november-2024/
Everyone is welcome to attend to see what it is all about, but these are also intended as working sessions where we will be editing articles, discussing changes and additions, and planning for the next time we get together.
