Philosophic Discussion - Sense Perception and Volition
Details
Join us in Coeur d'Alene to discuss Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism - a philosophy for living on Earth.
Are our senses valid? Do they give us real information about the world, or is what we perceive only a shadow or reflection? Do we have free will or are we predetermined? Why is all of this even in question? Join us for a discussion about some of the key principles of Objectivism, the Philosophy of Ayn Rand.
The basis for this and several future discussions will be the book Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand by Dr. Leonard Peikoff (often referred to by the acronym OPAR). An overview of this book as well as a link to order a copy are accessible via the preceding link. You can also get a free electronic copy from the Ayn Rand Institute.
Reading for this discussion is Chapter 2: Sense Perception and Volition.
Helpful cross-references to Ayn Rand's original works may be found in
The Ayn Rand Lexicon (physical book or free online version)
We look forward to seeing you!
