Bike Salem to Londonderry- Mostly on Bike Trails

Details

PLEASE READ ALL THE DETAILS of this event, before you sign up. The whole ride will be around 30+ miles round trip. This ride will be on some quiet roads and a few short unpaved trail sections. I am limiting the number of attendees for this event so that I can be sure that everyone is accounted for. There are many turns on this ride, and I need to be able to keep track of everyone on the ride. HYBRIDS BIKES RECOMMENDED

Starting at the Tuscan Market in Salem, we will bike north on the trail, and around 6 miles into the ride, we will take a right turn to a short road distance to connect to another trail alongside Parkland Medical Center. This trail has sections that are not paved, and some hills. We will travel through the Fairways complex and connect to the trails across the complex. This trail will take us close to Routes 102 & 28 By-Pass intersection in Derry, but we will take a left turn shortly before the rotary. We will ride a few more quiet roads and connect to the Londonderry Rail Trail, which we will ride all the way to the end, and double back to the Hood Park where we can take our lunch/snack. From the park, we will travel all the way back to Tuscan Market, and if anyone is interested, we can continue to the Tuscan Village for a drink or more food.

NOTE: Please be ready to ride promptly at 10:00 am.

If you're new to the group, we'll be doing an easy-paced ride.

Bathrooms/outhouses are located both at Hood Park and mid-way along the trail, near the Windham Depot.

Safety Note: Bike helmets are mandatory on our rides.
