In the situation where the event becomes full and there is a waitlist, and to ensure kindness, common courtesy and respect to those on the waitlist, we are instituting new policies to incentivize managing RSVPs appropriately.

1st No Show/RSVP Change is a freebie.

2nd No Show/RSVP Change will result in your status for the next event being moved to "Not Going."

3rd No Show/RSVP Change will result in the status for your next 2 events being moved to "Not Going."

Any subsequent no shows will result in your status in every event thereafter moved to "Not Going" until a discussion can be had with the group leaders and yourself regarding the constant violations of our terms.

Description:

Hey folks, this hiking meetup will meet at 10 am parking lot in Blydenburgh Park, Veteran's Memorial Highway, Smithtown, NY 11788. We are meeting in the parking area at the end, on the left, near the dog park. Follow signs to the dog park.

This is a 6.1-mile loop, mostly flat, with some beautiful views around a pond, but we might do some extra portions so it might be a bit longer. Given the distance, and that the pace will probably be about "medium to brisk," keep in mind that if you have walking disabilities this might not be for you. We will probably take about 2 or 2.5 hours to walk the trail routes this time, give or take a few minutes.

Jason and Teresa will be leading this hike and will decide which route the group takes.

If the weather forecast says more than a 50% chance of rain during the time of this hike, check back here one hour before the hike to see if the hike is canceled.

Unfortunately, there are no dogs with this group. Apologies.

If folks want to go together to a nearby diner or something afterward for some lunch.
