**November's Full Moon over Alcatraz Island**

This year, the November full moon is known as the "Beaver Moon," which traditionally occurs when beavers prepare for winter. In 2024, the Beaver Moon will coincide with a partial lunar eclipse on November 15. During this partial lunar eclipse, only a portion of the Moon will pass through the Earth's shadow, creating a subtle dimming on one part of the lunar surface.
This combination of a full moon and partial lunar eclipse adds a unique touch to November’s lunar event, making it especially noteworthy for stargazers and astronomy enthusiasts.

As any seasoned Bay Area photographer knows, readiness for the elements is paramount. Bundle up warmly and pack your essential gear. While a 300mm to 500mm lens is recommended, shorter focal lengths offer a more expansive panorama.

Larson will be there to lend a hand- technical guidance, compositional assistance, or simply moral support. We'll ensure each participant departs with images to treasure for a lifetime.
