Winter Hike and History at Tower Park in Ft Thomas KY - FREE
Details
Looking for a free woodland adventure without leaving the suburbs?
Join us Saturday 1/11/2025 @ 10:15 am (hike will start promptly at 10:30 am) in Ft Thomas' Tower Park (park and meet at 970 Cochran Ave, Ft Thomas KY) for a two-hour woodland hike and history presentation, guided by Kevin Eagles, Assistant Director of the Ft Thomas Military and Community Museum, and led by Brant Owens, Outing Leader for the NKY Group of Sierra Club.
Tower Park has an extensive trail system and equally extensive history. We expect to hike approximately 2 miles. The trails require moderate exertion with some steep sections and an elevation change of 250 ft down then 250 ft back up. Water will be provided by the museum at the halfway point of the hike.
Inclement weather before or during the event may cause a cancellation or rescheduling due to trail conditions.
Kevin will guide the group through the trails, stopping at points of interest to discuss the interesting history of Ft Thomas as a military post and bedroom community of Cincinnati.
Optionally, after the hike the opportunity to tour the museum itself or the historic greater park area will be available, and there are several local restaurants within walking distance for lunch on your own afterwards.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany and sign a waiver for minors 12 or under. Parent or guardian must sign a waiver for unaccompanied minors at least 13 years of age.

Suitable for beginners but will require moderate exertion due to steepness of some of the trails and changes in elevation. Please wear appropriate footwear.
