Moderate Hike at Julington-Durbin Preserve

Details

It's the best time of the year in North Florida to meet fellow hikers for a walk in the woods. Enter the park at the main entrance for hiking at 13200 Bartram Park Blvd. Sign in at the picnic tables at the end of the parking lot at 9:00 a.m. so we can begin by 9:10. This is a hike of approximately 3-4 miles among pines and shady oaks on the white loop trail. Julington-Durbin Creek Preserve provides visitors with several trails through natural communities ranging from sandhill to lower flatwood to lush floodplain swamp and marshes. The park is shared by hikers, runners, bicyclists, and horses and is well maintained by the SJRWMD. Wear comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers, and dress in layers. Bring water, sunglasses, and a hat, plus bug spray, sunscreen, raingear, and a snack if desired. No pets please.
