A very easy and relaxed early winter riverside walk along the Tyne. Start at Newburn riverside and up the Tyne to circle Wylam via George Stephenson cottage. A few stops for historical facts and coffee along the way. Lunch in Wylam and toilets available at the Wylam Institute. Then return along the newly reopened Keelmans Way on the opposite side of the river to take in the Ryton Willows Nature Park. Total route about eight and a half miles. Gentle riverside paths which are very doggy friendly (hope to bring one myself). Option of a refreshing post walk drink on the balcony of the Newburn rowing club, I am not an experienced walk leader so you will need to take responsibility for your own well-being and safety.
