Women's Winter "Getaway" to the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness Kaug Wudjoo Lodge
Details
We are so excited to offer our 4th annual Winter retreat! They have been such great events, but this retreat promises to be really special! We were fortunate to get the Kaug Wudjoo Lodge, located right on the shores of Lake Superior in the Porcupine Mountains! Included in this years retreat, is a "Lantern Lit" trail event, only offered on Saturday evenings in the month of February. We will x-country ski or snowshoe along the kerosene lantern-lit trail to a beautiful bonfire and cabin where refreshments are served. It is a magical experience that will light up your soul!
Apricity — The warmth of sunshine in winter. That's the feeling you will have at the Porkies in winter. Things like the crisp, clean air; the often clear blue skies; the freshly fallen snows; the starry night skies; ice along Lake Superior's shore; and fires crackling in the fireplace; all promote a feeling of contentment.
Activities abound in the Porkies during wintertime. There are 25 miles of groomed x-country ski and snowshoe trails surrounding the Porcupine Mountain Winter Sports Complex; not to mention 90 miles of ungroomed trails in the park. There are 15 Downhill ski runs and 4 glade (alpine skiing) trails to ski, snowboard, or sno-go bike on.
There are many other areas to explore within close proximity to the Park. We will plan daily explorations, plus offer yoga and art activities. Please know that all activities are optional. You can choose whatever you want to do with your time at the event. It is a getaway for you, afterall!
We always have more things to do than we have time for! That is why we hope many of you can attend the whole 4 night event. We realize, however, that some of you are not able to "getaway" for that many nights.
