In order to make this a true language exchange, we ask everyone if they would please follow this rule: in the first 45 minutes, we speak Japanese only. In the second 45 minutes we speak English only.
楽しい言語交換にするために、次のルールに従ってください。最初の 45 分は日本語のみで話してください。 後半の45分は英語のみで話してください。

If your Japanese is at beginner level and you don't feel confident enough to speak, please regard the first 45 minutes as listening practice (which is very useful for language learning).
日本語が初級レベルで、話すことに自信がない場合は、最初の 45 分をリスニングの練習として考えてください (これは言語学習に非常に役立ちます)。
