This month centers around the spirit of giving, so let's support St. Thomas United Methodist Church's efforts in caring for their community via their food pantry.

**About the Food Pantry:**
The Food Pantry opened its doors on March 17, 2007 and has been in continuous operation since then. They are members of the Capital Area Food Bank and are able to purchase food there at lower prices. We also pick up food 6 days a week from local grocery stores. The Pantry is open every Saturday morning from 9 to 11 am for drive-thru distribution. Families are encouraged to come every other week so that they can receive food twice a month. They distribute canned goods, cereal, pasta, rice, etc., as well as fresh produce, some deli items, and frozen meat.

**Volunteer Facts:**

* Please arrive at **8:30am** to help set up for the distribution which starts at 9am - typically volunteers are there until about 12:30pm to assist with cleanup after distribution has ended.
* During the distribution you can help pack food, take the food to client's cars, assist with traffic control, or assist with checking people in as they arrive. They are especially in need of Spanish-speaking volunteers, but this is not a requirement.
* When you arrive, please come down to the food pantry located at the bottom of the driveway - the furthest building away from the church with the **GREEN** doors and sign on front.
* This opportunity is open to one-time as well as recurring volunteers, but registration is **required** in order to participate.
* Dress comfortably.
