What we’re about

What we're about
We are a group of friendly people doing weekly 10k (6.2 mile) or 5k (3.1 mile) walks all around the Pacific Northwest. We walk for FUN, FITNESS and FRIENDSHIP. All walks are American Volkssport Association (AVA) sanctioned. Everyone is welcome to join us.

The NW Tulip Trekker's and Olympic Peninsula Explorers have walked for over 35 years and shares the vision of the American’s Walking Club  (AVA), Evergreen State Volkssport Association (ESVA), and International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV).
On our group walks: At every walk, upon arriving at the start point, you will be required to register. You will be signing a liability waiver (a disclaimer), as our club cannot accept responsibility for any injuries or other harms you might incur during the walk.
Show up and be ready to walk at the posted time. We need to register for each walk at the start location, so allow for that. It's important to join the group. This gives you reminders, changes and cancellations.
*** Join us - RAIN OR SHINE - for "Fun, Fitness, and Friendship". *** The NW Tulip Trekkers and Olympic Peninsula Explorers are an outdoor walking club. We welcome newcomers. Come walk the NW corner of Washington with us. The NW Tulip Trekkers have walks in Anacortes, Bellingham, Birch Bay, Blaine, Burlington, Coupeville, Deception Pass, Ferndale, La Conner, Oak Harbor, and Mount Vernon. We have added walks in Lynden, Friday Harbor and Cornwall Park for 2024. We are looking forward to 2025 and have 21 walks to choose from.
The Olympic Peninsula Explorers host 23 YR events for your walking enjoyment in Kitsap and Clallam County..
Walking at a moderate pace without interruption, most people can expect to complete a 10 km walk in about 2 and a half hours and a 5 km walk in approximately 1- and one-half hours or you can take as long as you want.   Anyone is welcome to join our walks and hopefully become interested in participating in our club.
Membership is only $5.00 per year.
IVV credit is $3.00 or $4.00 per walk depending on club
Donations are appreciated to offset costs.

The Trekkers Club and OPE are designed for AVA-member walkers, and for individuals and families who just want to walk for fun and fitness.
Most walks are dog friendly (with leash and cleanup, of course).
If you love to walk, you'll love to walk with us.
If you would like to become a member of NW Tulip Trekkers:
