What we’re about
The NY Drone User Group, part of The Drone Group, is an organization for Beginner as well as Expert Drone users that seek to promote the responsible use of a UAV* / sUAS* for community service, artistic, recreational and commercial purposes.
We will be flying regularly (most weekends, weather and TFRs permitting) and also have a monthly online (joint with NJ Dug) on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Join us from the comfort of home or your favorite spot.
We are part of The Drone Group in NY, NJ, and PA.
We work to educate ourselves about how to use and build Drones in a safe and respectful manner, and to educate the public about the positive role aerial robotics can play in our society.

We've been invited to fly at the Seaview Rotary Wing Club's field at the south western tip of Brooklyn and they have put on fantastic weather 🙃 for us.....

- Fly-In at The Dam CreekAssunpink Dam Access, Trenton, NJ
No, I'm not d#m swearing, it's a Creek with a Dam and a large flying area..... This is a great place to fly Planes and FPV (I can setup some gates for you to practice - you must let me know before Friday, so I can get them out of storage).....

TIP: If driving turnpike south, take exit 7A not exit 8 - as you need to be on route 130 north... This way, there are less traffic lights and it puts you on the right side of the road for the entrance...
If you take exit 8, it'll put you southbound on route 130 and you'll have no access to the entrance, so you'd need to do a U turn someway down the road....I'll give members that are coming my cell # in case you need help finding us...

You're not going to find locations like this in a city, so you have to travel to find great legal places to fly....
Flying around this nice Park's trees, lake. and playing fields, all make for some great views, and a really large area field gives us plenty of space to fly (see our canopy in the picture above)....
FPV mini-quads and planes okay if either of the two fields are low on general public, and I'll set up some gates for you to have some fun practicing....
