What separates a great latte from a good or a bad one? That’s the question at the heart of this new Coffee Hunters event, with guest co-host (and frequent Coffee Hunters attendee) Neil Andrews. Neil is a good person to address that question – he’s visited over 200 coffee shops in NYC, putting their lattes to the test and posting reviews on his website.
Of all the places he’s visited, only about 40 of them (a mere 20%) have achieved Destination Coffee status – Neil’s designation for places with lattes so good that he would actually travel across the city for them. We’ll be visiting three of those esteemed shops: Kobrick Coffee, 787, and Think Coffee, all in the West Village area.
By the end of this tour, you’ll have a sense of the many variables that affect the making of a latte, where things tend to go off the rails, and what absolutely has to happen for the latte to emerge with coveted Destination Coffee status. What better way to spend a morning in early January?
The cost of the tour will go entirely to coffee and barista tips at two of the three shops (with attendees responsible for their own coffee at the third shop). There are no refunds if you can't make it, but please cancel your RSVP so someone else can get in!
