The Orange Belt Mineralogical Society (OBMS) Workshop at [205 W. Benedict # 8, San Bernardino, CA 92408] is open Tuesday 3 - 7 p.m., Wed. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Call (909) 381-0089 to verify workshop is open. The workshop fee is $5 each time you use the workshop. The workshop is run by volunteers. Members work on lapidary and jewelry making techniques using shop equipment. Members help members learn. Members go on rock hunting fieldtrips. Our mission is to educate about geology and lapidary techniques. It is a nonprofit, volunteer, hobby environment. There is a yearly membership fee when you become a member. Most times, the first time you come to the shop, you will get help making a cabochon - a beautiful rock to set into jewelry at another time. There is a $5 shop fee if you work on the equipment.
