\*\* This is not an event, but an introduction to an idea I've had for a while that I wish to implement for the group. RSVP if you would like to participate in any way\*\*\*

**What is it?**

The goal is to start an outdoor gear library for our group. Members can lend their EXTRA gear for free or a small fee, and borrowers can rent required gear from them making it easy to try new adventures without investing in pricey equipment. Success of this depends on the active participation of those who can lend their gear.

**What you need to do?**

***If you'd like to participate as a lender,*** please check your gear storage for any unused items you’d be willing to share. Once you’ve identified what you can lend, add those details to the attached Excel sheet. I’ve already listed the items I’m happy to lend.

* You can request a deposit when lending gear, which must be refunded minus the rental cost once the gear is returned.
* If the gear is damaged or lost, you can charge the borrower for the repair or replacement cost.
* Examples of gear available for rent include tents, backpacks, climbing helmets, extra sleeping bags, bear canisters, filters, etc

***If you'd like to borrow gear***, check the Excel sheet for available items and contact the lenders directly using their preferred method. Payments should be made directly to the lender. We’ll operate on an honor system—no rental contracts are needed. Borrowers must return the gear in clean condition and are responsible for any refundable deposit and rental costs, as well as repair or replacement costs if the gear is damaged or lost.

We’ll launch the library as an experiment first once we have enough gear. Let’s make outdoor fun affordable and accessible for all!
