Let's give back to one of Off the Grid's favorite parks with another service trip to Cumberland Island National Seashore!

Transportaion to the island is free! As a volunteer the park will provide transportation and waive the entry fee.

The group will be camping at Sea Camp in the admin sites reserved for service groups. These large, shaded camping sites close the restrooms are outfitted with fire rings, picnic tables, and food storage boxes.

All tools are provided. You will need long pants and sturdy shoes/boots.
Don't forget sunscreen and bug spray!

There is a fee to cover firewood, ice, misc. camp supplies, and trash removal.

Saturday evening, hot dogs and sides are provided for a cookout.
You will need to bring food for your other meals during our stay.

Sunday night, we can have a beach fire under the stairs (weather permitting).

There is potable water at Sea Camp, but there are no stores on the island.

You will need basic camping gear.

Remember:
--Make sure you bring everything you need for four days on the island. There are no stores! You must bring food for the entire trip with you!
--Bring what you need, but I encourage you to pack as light as your needs allow! Bring the smallest tent that fits your needs.

Dogs are not allowed in the campsites by the National Park.

Where we will be working is a protected wilderness and some parts are quite overgrown. The work can be mildly strenuous. You will be hand cutting brush and clearing trails. The usual workday is from 9 am to 3 pm.

On the day of your arrival, you will go to the campsite and set up and have the rest of that day off.

Plan to arrive in St Mary's no later than 10:30 am Friday, November 15th to have time to unload your gear and park in the over night lot. After parking and unloading, we will meet to in the grassy area beside the visitor center at 11:00 am.

You will want to be self-contained with all your gear packed into your own wagon or cart. If it fits thru a standard doorway, it will fit on the boat.

There are NO STORES on the island, you must bring everything you need for the trip. This a service trip. You will work 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday and Sunday, do you agree.
