NOTE: We're gonna kick off our spotlight on 2024 movies with one of the most talked-about dramas of the year. Based on the play by famed playwright August Wilson, The Piano Lesson is co-produced by the great Denzel Washington and boasts an all-star cast. This movie should provoke a great discussion.

Summary: Set in 1936 Pittsburgh during the aftermath of the Great Depression, The Piano Lesson follows the lives of the Charles family in the Doaker Charles household and an heirloom, the family piano, which is decorated with designs carved by an enslaved ancestor.

Join us at our next meeting where we will discuss Malcolm Washington's drama film The Piano Lesson (2024) starring Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, Erykah Badu, Danielle Deadwyler, and Corey Hawkins. The film is streaming on Netflix.
