**This is Not a 'Casual' Event! Do Not casually RSVP, you Must Be Committed to attending**. With a history of no-shows or late cancelations and you will not be going to these events.
Currently No courts Booked, for unsupervised, non-coached play, 1 hour.

**This event intended for Beginners that want to gradually learn Pickleball.**
I'll try to arrange events for Novice, 'Random Play', and Intermediate as well. For Beginners, we do the regular warm up drill, go over a couple rules if necessary, then play. In most clubs and City drop-ins, people mainly play pickleball with the rules.
You will Not get to Going status if I cannot Private Message you. So if you wonder why, check your 'Ottawa Beginner Hiking' message settings.
**Check back here and your Enabled Private Messages before this event** to check for updates **and Certainly If You Are On Waitlist**. You will be removed from the Wait list or Going List, to Not-Going if you do not reply to private messaging or its disabled.

Others depend on your attendance, and I am tracking. **Keep your Eye on the Ball!** Please **Update your RSVP ASAP if you find things don't work out, even if you are on the waitlist, and remove your RSVP if you cannot check your change in Waitlist status before this event.** **Cancel your Going RSVP at least 24 hours before this event**. When you sign-up, Please Plan your day for this event, check the weather forecast.

A great facility for Pickleball.

Arrive by 3:45 PM, we must go on the court #? Only at 4:00 pm and must leave the court at 5:00 am Sharp. **Arrive earlier if you are unfamiliar** with the RA Centre. Its recommended to use the East Wing entrance, you see the sign driving by. Watch the Step going through the door there - crazy. **Free Parking** is further east.
There are **women's & men's locker-change rooms downstairs** (from where we enter the courts), get the door code form the front desk, bring lock.

Restrooms: down the hall & in change rooms.
The Pickleball Lounge is no longer available.

Cost: **$7.50 paid to me in cash** at the event. Its best to bring a **$5 bill + Change or a $10 less change.**

**What to Bring:** water, pickleball paddle and appropriate sportswear and Indoor runners/sneakers, maybe a small towel, maybe a fav pickleball, a lock. **You Must Not wear shoes worn outdoors**.

Pickle ball provides some physical stress, and requires some physical coordination. By signing up you also agree that you are in sufficiently sound physical condition.
I am not trained in First Aid, physical training, or Pickleball instruction.

# Rules: these impact Safety, a priority.

* **don't chase the ball if it is obviously going out**. People have crashed over the barrier. I would worry that people may also collide with each other or the wall.
* when your ball goes into another court, **yell "Ball" or "Ball on Court"**
* **never run or walk onto or near another court while play is in action**. Ask to retrieve your ball once play is stopped.
* **Never run backwards**, turn sideways and shuffle or turn around and run forward
* Remain mindful of your partner's position. In Pickleball we play side-to-side, not front & back. So generally you stay on your side of the court.
