Christmas Light social hike through Center City and South Phila

***NOTES***:

1. Time change is for those wanting to meet up early to grab a beverage before the hike. The hike will start promptly at 6:30.
2. Suburban station is right across from Uptown Beer Garden which makes taking regional rail an easy option to avoid traffic and parking cost/stress

DESCRIPTION:

Let's hit the streets of Philadelphia at this special time of year and visit some of the popular light displays while enjoying a social night out in the city.

We will start at Uptown Beer Garden across from Love Park. From there we will cruise through Dilworth Plaza as we make our way to South Phila passing some bars of interest along the way- we won't have time to stop in them to drink, but you will be able to enjoy the festive decorations and holiday vibe as we pass by.

I have mapped out two routes: 5.5 and a 7.5 mile option. The shorter version ends at Miracle on 13th and heads back. The longer version encompasses walking to the display on Smedley St. before heading back to starting point. We will most likely do the shorter version as a group with option to head to Smedley for those having time to do the extra mileage. We can discuss/vote at start of hike. Hike end time estimate is between 9 and 10pm based upon route the group chooses.

Pace between stops will be about 3.0 and hike will be social in nature. That means festive dress encouraged and feel free to "celebrate" along the way...:)

PARKING AND MEETING LOCATION: We will meet at the Uptown Beer Garden located at 1500 John F Kennedy Blvd in center city Phila.

GUEST and ATTENDANCE POLICY: This is rare event in which guests are ok. Please be courteous and change your rsvp in a timely fashion if you can no longer attend an event. Repeated no shows or a history of signing up and dropping off excessively when there is a wait list will exclude you from being moved off of future wait lists and special events.
