Name: Paddle the Ocklawaha during the Lake Drawdown

Every 4 years they lower the water level of the lake to clean out sediment and weed mats that accumulate behind the Rodman Dam. This is our opportunity to see the original Ocklawaha River channel. Until the dam is removed this is the only time to see what this section of the Ocklawaha could be if restored.

We will paddle the original channel of the Ocklawaha River that has been flooded by the Rodman Dam. This will be an paddle of 10+ miles that with the shuttle and breaks will take about 6 hours. We will exit the river at the Hog Valley Public Boat Ramp at the end of NE 245th Rd. We will shuttle cars to the take out after meeting at the put in.

**Fees:** None

**Kayak Rentals:** There will be a limited number of yaks available for rental. You must pay the $25 in advance through Zelle or Venmo. My phone number is 407-758-9799. Refunds will not be provided after 9am Saturday the 15th I have 5 SOT's and 3 sit in's, please state your preference in the conversation below the event description. All rentals come with paddle, PFD and whistle.

**What to Bring:** The short list would be drinking water, sunscreen, bug repellent and lunch or snacks. Everyone on the water is required to have a PFD and whistle.

**Carpooling:** If you would like to carpool please note it and your pickup location in the "Join the Conversation" section below the event description. Make sure you state in your RSVP your desire to carpool. When you see that some else would like to carpool, please email them directly as soon as possible so that you can setup your ride.
