Gloucester Park Trail @6 miles Moderate Hike
Details
This will be roughly a 5.75-6 mile hike at a pace of 23-25 minute miles. We will be walking the perimeter plus other paths. The paths are narrow. There are roots, stones, leaves. This path is used by mountain bikers but hopefully we do not see many on the trail at this time of year. There are areas of hills.
Since this is a moderate pace, to be fair to the group, ALL hikers MUST be able to keep this pace for the entire @6 miles and hike with the group.
Priority on my hikes will go to those who attend the hikes OR cancel more than 24 hours ahead of time.
Highly recommend hiking boots/shoes, poles if needed. Use whatever insect prevention you feel comfortable with. There have been ticks on these trails so be prepared.
There are bathrooms located at the park. Please time your arrival so you will have time. We will be walking in the woods that are next to the park and for the last mile or so probably outside of the woods (will play it by ear).
I will stop at mile 1 for 5 minutes for a clothing adjustments and/or water break. Mile 4.5 for a 20 minute lunch or snack. Make sure to stay hydrated during hike.
I like to start on time so please try to arrive by 845 to use bathroom if needed, any clothing adjustments, safety briefing, introduction, and any other last minute items.
Of course if inclement weather (rain, ice, falling snow), I will cancel by 7am that morning.
