Rancocas State Park - Hainesport
Details
You must be a paid member of the Outdoor Club of South Jersey to participate. Go to ocsj.org to join. No guests on this one, due to our low limit on the number of hikers.
We will meet at Rancocas State Park in Hainesport at the intersection of Deacon Rd. and Woodlawn Lane. Parking is limited. We will walk around the trails for about 4.5 miles at a slow to moderate pace. There is a dizzying 82 ft. elevation change!
We will start the hike at 10:15 sharp. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early in order to have time to sign in and, if necessary, find an appropriate bush.
· It is now bow hunting season. There could be active hunters in the woods. Please wear brightly colored clothing, preferably blaze orange.
· Bring water and snacks. We will pause for snacks, but not a full lunch.
· There are no restrooms or port-a-potties available. The woods is our outhouse. Bring toilet paper, if you need it. Tell the leader or the sweep if you need to stop.
· Ending time is approximate, depending upon how often we stop. This is a happy meander through the woods. Our pace varies between slow and moderate, depending on terrain and how we are feeling. But, if you want us to slow down, do not hesitate to ask. We’ll be happy to oblige. Please do not ask us to speed up.
· No pets allowed.
· Rain, snow, or high winds probably cancels. Check comments for weather cancellation before you leave home.
