What we’re about
Join the OGs (Outdoor Girlfriends), a community of open-and like-minded women who enjoy staying active and exploring the great outdoors. OGs is a place to meet new friends, learn and be inspired among other amazing women!
Let's be present, mindful and enjoy the journey, rather than just reaching the destination.
This group is for women of all backgrounds, races, colors, creeds, and status.
What we'll do: Plenty of easy to moderate hikes, plus lunches, potlucks, museum visits, bike rides, beach days, volleyball, etc. Always open to new ideas!
Events will mostly be in the San Gabriel Valley, but also LA & OC areas.
Before joining, please read a few guidelines below.
ATTENDANCE:
Be respectful of the organizer and group. If plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as possible and notify the event organizer as a courtesy. Flaking to an event, especially with a wait-list, or changing your RSVP at the last minute means someone else does not have the opportunity to join. If you are a no-show more than 2 times without at least letting the organizer(s) know, you may be suspended or removed from the group. A lot of work is put into organizing events and we ask for your consideration in return.
HIKES
Hikes will range from easy (<5 miles, <2000’ gain) to moderate (5-10 miles, 2000-3500’ gain), with an occasional strenuous hike (10+ miles, >3500’ gain). Pace will be 2-3 mph (average). There’s time for pictures on the trails, but please be aware of your fitness level and considerate of the time so everyone could have a good experience and complete the hike within the allotted time.
CARPOOLING:
Feel free to reach out to other attendees if you are willing to give a carpool or need a carpool. If you decide to ride with someone, please be kind enough to share with the driver a gallon or two worth for their trouble and gas.
PHOTO:
Please have a clear photo of yourself on your profile so we could identify you.
DISCLAIMER:
The sole role of the organizer is to organize the event. They are not responsible for anyone’s safety or any incident before, during, or after the event. Participants fully understand the risks, dangers, and hazards associated with any outdoor activity, and freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers and hazards. Participants also further agree to release and discharge all Organizers of the Outdoor Girlfriends Meetup Group from and against any and all liability arising from you and your guest’s participation in the group activities.
Let’s have fun!
