Mindful Nature Walk with Jaime Zino

Join Outlink for a gentle, two-hour walk in Edworthy Park! You’ll have an opportunity to connect with both nature and peers, allowing space for reflection and conversation. As our facilitator Jaime Zino (they/them) takes us on a stroll through the park, we'll take time to slow down, breathe deeply, and immerse ourselves in the sights, sounds, and smells of the natural world. Whether you're looking to recharge, enjoy some quiet moments in nature, or simply connect with others in a supportive environment, this walk is for you.

We’ll be meeting at the Edworthy Park North Parking Lot (4105 Montgomery View NW). The nearest bus stop is at eastbound Bowness Rd & Point Drive (Route 40), and westbound Bowness Rd & Point Drive (Route 1).

Registration through Zeffy is required to attend. This event is free to attend at no cost, with options for $10 paid tickets or to give an optional donation of any amount with your registration. Ticket proceeds will cover event costs, and support Outlink’s ongoing services and programming.

We encourage folks to sign up as early as possible. We will be limiting the number of participants to 15 people maximum to ensure a comfortable facilitation experience.

We may be able to help facilitate limited carpooling from CommunityWise Resource Centre (223 12 Ave SW). Please reach out to Jaime at jaime [at] calgaryoutlink [dot] ca (replace at with @ and dot with a period) to ask about carpooling.

Please come dressed for the weather and prepared to walk outdoors. The focus for this outing is to take some time to find some pockets of nature within the city and see what we can connect with there. Although the time frame is two hours, we won’t walk very far. The terrain will be a mix of paved paths and wide, packed dirt trails without any significant hills or obstacles. There are some small roots on the dirt section of the trail. There will also be the opportunity to wander a short way into a grassy open area that will be completely optional. While the park will likely be busy on the weekend, with other people and animals present, we will do our best to find quiet pockets of space during the walk.

There is a washroom located just south of the parking lot. Currently, the permanent washroom is closed, but temporary individual toilet stalls have been set up.
