Bishops Hill from Portmoak Church: Grade B Hill Walk
Details
A different approach to climbing Bishops Hill than our normal route.
Grade: B
Length: 5.0 miles
Ascent: 1650 feet, (503 m)
Pace: Medium
Starting from the Portmoak Church Car Park we cross the road and turn left following the base of Bishops hill until we reach the outskirts of Kinesswood. From here we have a steep 800ft climb to the top of Bishops Hill. We head North for 2 miles along the edge of the hill before heading back on a more inland route. Our final section back to the Portmoak car park is via the zig zag path exiting directly opposite the Church.
Please be aware of the steep climb in this walk and ensure you have the appropriate level of fitness to complete. We will be stopping regularly along the route to ensure we keep the group together.
We will start at 10 am prompt to ensure we make full use of available daylight. Please let us know if you're held up or unable to walk by messaging the MU site.
We will be stopping for lunch at a convenient point. Dogs are welcome provided they can be put on leads when requested or when conditions require.
HEALTH AND SAFETY ON WALKS
