What we’re about
Palm Beach Dharma Center (PBDC) is a Buddhist meditation and study center in the Nyingma tradition of Tibet. PBDC was established by Venerable Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche (1938-2010) and Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche to preserve in its entirety the authentic message of Buddha Shakyamuni and Guru Padmasambhava, and in particular to teach the traditions of the Nyingma school and Vajrayana Buddhism.

(after Calm Abiding Practice)Advice from a Spiritual Friend | A Commentary on Nagarjuna's Letter to a Friend, by Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche
"Letter to a friend by the great master Nagarjuna contains very practical advice and detailed instructions for all generations. It has been kept close to the heart and actualized by many practitioners across the centuries in India and Tibet. The main topic is how to be a good, decent, and responsible person in samsara. These principles are important and valuable to anyone, no matter where they live or what they believe."

@ 10:00 am EST“The extent of joy in your heart and the joy you bring to others will always be dependent upon the extent to which your mind is motivated by loving-kindness and compassion. This is the point of view shared by all human beings, not just dharma practitioners. It is the most important standard by which we all judge one another. It is the essential practice of dharma as taught by the Buddhas. Compassion and loving-kindness, based upon emptiness - that is the condensed heart practice of the Prajnaparamita.”

@ 10:00 amCalm Abiding Meditation
This is a practice in calming the mind through “peaceful abiding", called shamatha meditation. Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche says, “It is the most important thing we can do. Through peaceful abiding, we learn to rest fearlessly in our natural state.” These instructions guide us in the ancient technique to reveal the true nature of mind, wherein lies peace and happiness. What could be more needed and helpful in our lives today? We hope you will join us.
