Peaceful and quiet, Winding Waters is a 548 acre nature preserve, one of the newest in Palm Beach County. With hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty offering visitors a chance to see nature up close and personal. Bird life is abundant here from bald eagle, anhinga and green heron. Perhaps even an alligator can be spotted.
Meet at 10 AM Tuesday, January 7 2025 at the trail head parking lot . Walk 5 mile loop around the lake on a grass/sand path. The first 1/2 mile is an ADA accessible paved trail. Hike all or part of the trails. Bring water, hat, sunscreen, possibly walking sticks and binoculars or camera. Wear comfortable shoes.
There is a shady area near the canoe launch which is perfect for lunch...bring a chair and your picnic lunch that you leave in your car for afterward, if you wish.
Winding Waters is 4/10ths mile west of the intersection of Haverhill Road and Dyer Blvd.... on south side of Dyer Park.
