Join us Recess For Active Retirees(RFAR) and Pack & Paddle on a bike ride in beautiful Jonathan Dickinson State Park in south Hobe Sound, just north of Jupiter.
We'll meet at Kimball Education/Visitor Center, about 4 miles into the park at 10 AM. Ranger station should give you a map. Basically follow the road to River Camp Ground and Concession area. At the T turn left. . Restrooms and water available. Look for P&P and RFAR signs and smiling faces. 35 MPH so plan accordingly and do not speed.
This is such a beautiful park that you may want to spend the day. The park offers canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and camping.
We'll start on a paved, blacktop trail and ride part on the road . . Admission $6 per vehicle (two to eight people).
- $4 single-occupant vehicle
Also visit the tower and climb to the highest point in Martin County. During WWll this was Camp Murphy a RADAR training facility. May see some ruins.
Ride about 12-14 miles at 8-10 mph.
Bring picnic lunch ..leave in your car...for afterwards.
