Ben Smith has invited us to go on this Recess For Active Retirees (RFAR) leisurely walk/saunter of the Hog Hammock Trail. The trail is mostly crushed shell rock with some boardwalk areas. You have your choice of an approximately 5 mile walk, a 3 mile one branching off at the spur, or the 7/10ths mile Eagle Trail/Gator Lake Trail.

Bring water ,sunscreen, walking sticks and binoculars if desired, and wear comfortable shoes.

Picnic tables are available so bring a picnic lunch for afterward if you wish and a chair to help maintain proper social distance. Bathrooms are located by the parking lot, and water is available there.

There is also a fishing pier for catch and release.

Location: 8537 Northlake Blvd, West Palm Beach, Watershed Management Fish & Wildlife sign, Hog Hammock trail head. (GPS is stated as 26.664083, -80.141100). THIS IS ABOUT 1/4 MILE PAST THE ENTRANCE OF THE SOUTH SIDE OF GRASSY WATERS PRESERVE.

Directions: From I-95 exit Northlake Blvd, drive 4.5 miles west to the entrance on the north side of Northlake Boulevard, a mile or so west of the Beeline Expressway.
