What we’re about
UPDATE JANUARY 26, 2025: We have found a temporary venue in El Monte where we'll be dancing every Friday till we find a more permanent location. We're not resuming beginners classes yet, but we hope to get that going again after we find a permanent place to dance near Pasadena. In the meantime, you're welcome to join us in El Monte:

We'll also be leaving the Meetup space at least for a while in mid February. If you want to keep in touch with us, please go to our website: https://www.pasadenafolkdancecoop.org/

We are a long-established recreational folk dance group, and we dance together every Friday night from 7:30 till 9:30. We love to have new people come and join us, and starting September 6th we’re offering a beginners’ hour from 6:30 till 7:30 PM every 1st and 3rd Friday. We’ll teach beginner-level dances along with folk dance basics, and some of the common folk dance patterns. The first time you come it’s free and after that our regular $6 admission charge covers both the beginner’s hour and the rest of the evening of dancing.
The music and dances come from many different countries throughout the world. The steps may be traditional dances brought to the states by people who visited and learned in the village where the dance originated, or they may be recently choreographed based on the traditions of the country.
No partner needed. Wear clothes and shoes you’ll be comfortable dancing in.
You can find photos, dance videos, and lots more information on our website at pasadenafolkdancecoop.org, and we also have an email newsletter list that you can sign up for using the Contact page on our website. We're a non-profit 501c3. The $6 admission charge is just to help pay the rent for the hall.
Come dance with us!
