GameCon at House on the Hill - Friendsgiving (board game night in Beaverton)
Details
Come join us to experience a vast array of games, ranging from party games to middleweight and heavyweight games! With over 200 games at your disposal and our recurring gamers bringing dozens more, there's no shortage of options to choose from. Our gaming venue has ample space, featuring 8 gaming rooms each equipped with 1 to 3 tables, accommodating up to 4 to 8 players per table.
Our community is very welcoming and a great place to make friends, for new and experienced gamers alike. We can help you find a group to play with when you arrive or let you explore! With the event running from 4 PM to 1 AM, there's practically no limit to how long the games can run. It's a great place to break out your lengthy, heavier weight games, but also wonderful for playing lots of shorter party games and everything in between.
I, Lana, founded House on the Hill over 3 years ago, in July of 2021. Our first event had just 12 attendees, but with steady advertisement and community building efforts, we've grown to have over 50 attendees, many of whom have been attending for over 2 years. We get about 10 new attendees at each event.
BEFORE THE EVENT
Join our active discord, where regulars and new attendees chat about the next event, side events, and a plethora of other fun topics. You can schedule games or arrange carpools. On Discord, please make your username your name or nickname, so other members know who you are - it really helps for finding people at the event!
You may want to bring:
- board games
- snacks to share
- cat/dog allergy meds (we have 2 long-haired cats. The flooring is mostly non-carpet)
- weather protection (jacket, umbrella)
- water bottle, reusable plate, fork (highly appreciated to reduce number of dishwasher runs, saving us time)
NAVIGATING GAME NIGHT
Please make a name tag when you arrive, and feel free to grab food & drinks. Folks tend to socialize for the first 30 minutes, and new games start every 20-30 minutes.
If you have any questions during the event (including needing help finding a game to play/join), you can ask in the general chat on Discord or ask one of our hosts (Lana, Jeanette or Kevin) or a regular attendee (many of our attendees will be able to help!)
FOOD INFO
We provide snacks, drinks, and hot food. We encourage you to bring your favorite foods to share as well. If you bring enough for 10-15 people, that's awesome!
GAMES INFO
Join scheduled games on Discord, bring games (especially ones you can teach), or feel free just to show up and choose a game to play; there are over 200 games here to choose from. You can also see games other attendees bring, chat about your favorites, and more on Discord
