Starting at the free car park along Broad Dubb Road.

Heading from the car park:
east north east;
then north east;
then east south east;
then west south west;
then south to North Rigton;
Almscliff Crag;
then west;
north and east back to the car park.

Potential for a saunter by Little Almscliffe for posterity, depending on the mood of the day.

This is mainly on tracks and paths and some minor roads, through fields and wooded areas. Views over the Vales of Pickering and Mowbray eastwards, depending on the weather, and westwards over to Beamsley and Simon's Seat, possibly Great and Little Whernside.

A decent pace for the day of between 2.5 and 2.75mph to allow for viewing and photography. Walking at a transcendental pace around Euler's Number mph essentially!!!

Therefore if it is 'your idea to race off in front, generally go fast, run or complain if the walk is not at a faster pace, or otherwise' this isn't a walk for you!! But if you want good company, banter, walking in safety to admire the scenery at a decent pace, you're in!!!

By signing, up as an RSVP, you accept the above requirements in that we will be walking as a group to ensure everyone covers the distance in a safe and enjoyable manner.

Dogs welcome, providing they are under control, can be carried over styles and cleaned up after.

A King's Shilling or the modern brassy coloured equivalent £1 walk fee is payable at the start..

Two stops for sustenance are planned along the way.

Please make sure that you are adequately prepared and suitably attired for Winter walking conditions.
