What we’re about
They say "Practice makes perfect". We're not sure that's totally true, but we do know that the best way to get better at something is to gain more and more experience practicing it, especially in a safe environment with helpful support and feedback from colleagues.
Inspired in part by Bob Galen's "Extraordinarily Badass Agile Coaching" book and also wanting to contribute to the agile community in the Greater Philadelphia region, we have decided to organize an agile coaching dojo both for those in the Greater Philadelphia region and any others outside the region who would also like to participate. You don't have to have the title of Agile Coach to participate or get value out of the dojo sessions. Anyone who works with others to encourage the development of agile practices in any role is welcome and encouraged to join us. The coaching dojo sessions will initially be virtual but may evolve to occasional in-person sessions over time.
Every dojo session, we'll all get a chance to take turns playing the role of agile coach in hypothetical, but realistic scenarios. Fellow dojo members will also take turns role-playing other roles in the scenario or serving as an observer and note-taker so that we can benefit from feedback.
We anticipate each dojo session to run about one hour. There is no commitment to attend every session. Simply RSVP for the sessions that you intend to participate in and we'll divide everyone up into small groups for the role-playing and coaching practice for that session.
If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, please join our Meetup Group, and RSVP for one of our dojo or lean coffee sessions.
