🐉🦢 D&D: Inn of the Black Swan

A black swan is a completely unexpected event that changes everything. One day two groups of travelers going in opposite directions collided with an ongoing atrocity at the eponymous inn. Previously the world had seemingly been tumbling unchecked towards calamity, but now... who knows?

The Black Swan Campaign has been running for over a year. The adventures have been wide ranging and, I hope, fun. The players started as a mixed bag of newbies and old hands but that distinction has faded. We stick pretty much to the core books of 5E. The monsters are all out of the Monster Manual occasionally reskinned to confuse the players. The world is a work in progress, expanding as needed to fit play. Advancement is as a group which is currently at 6th level.

The Players:

• Rebecca:

...Fuzzlemip Waywocket Quillbyn ("Fuzzle" for short) is a forest gnome monk with a tendency towards indecisiveness and, apparently, a knack for slaying water with her bare hands. As befits trainees of her temple, she strives to live in harmony with the opposing forces of order and chaos: The destructive power of chaos must be kept in check by order, but at the same

time, a measure of chaos is required so that order can renew itself and

thus persist in the long run.

• Calhoun:

....Varis the wood elf bard, eats nuts, dresses all fancy.

• Sarah:

...Barbara is a half-orc paladin. She is 6 feet of muscle and wears a longsword, shield, and chain mail. Her armor looks lived-in - it's well taken care of but not polished and gleaming. Barbara comes from a medium sized town of no real importance, and makes her home on the road. Personality wise, she is generally a positive person (though sometimes she has to fight to keep it that way). She takes joy in using her gifts to smite evil.

• Harry:

...Hewstone Two Axes, Dwarf Druid. A barrel on broom sticks that spits lightning and picks flowers.

• Mooli:

Bixsy is an excitable and (sometimes) temperamental deep gnome conjurer, who loves creating (or conjuring) various knick-knacks (which are critically needed in her opinion). She wears her bronze colored hair, which contrasts with her gray skin, in a high hair-do, with multiple long pins sticking out of it and always has a twinkle in her dark blue eyes. Always eager to experience life to the fullest (read as runs straight into trouble), she is on a quest to conjure a solution to every problem she runs into.
