What we’re about
This is a group that meets biweekly to discuss themes and questions in philosophy and therapy. Each group will be led off by a brief presentation by a group member on a topic, followed by an open discussion of that topic. This should be of interest to anyone excited about questions in philosophy, therapy, and their intersection.
The following are the norms we have agreed on for group discussions:
• The group is confidential. Nothing personal shared in the group should be discussed or shared with anyone outside the group.
• “Step up, step back.” People should avoid monopolizing the discussion and should refrain from speaking too much if others have not had a chance to speak.
• No one should solicit, or offer, therapeutic advice.
• No discussions of contemporary politics or international affairs.
• If someone is feeling triggered by a discussion, they should make that known and the group should pause to address their concern.
