Photo RKE is a nonprofit photo group dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive photography community in Roanoke, Virginia. We bring photographers of all backgrounds and skill levels together through regular community events, engaging discussions, and collaborative initiatives that explore the art, craft, and impact of photography.
Our mission is to uplift underrepresented voices by providing access to gallery spaces, darkrooms, educational resources, and creative opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
We collaborate with individuals, groups, and organizations to document local stories and address societal issues, creating impactful visual narratives that foster understanding and inspire positive change.
By cultivating connections and supporting meaningful visual storytelling, we empower our members to inspire, create, and enrich the cultural fabric of our community.
