What we’re about
We are having a sing-along party, and you're invited!
The Pittsboro Song Circle happens in Chatham County (near the Orange County line) on the second Friday of the month.
We have pot luck munchies (NO PEANUTS!)-- bring a snack or drink, and your voices and enthusiasm.
We use a "play, pick, or pass" format for our circles. We sit in a large circle, and each person gets a chance to perform something, request something (either by title or general subject), or pass. This makes for a very eclectic mix of music.
We sing a lot of songs from the Rise Up Singing songbook, so if you have a copy please bring it.
Instruments that are welcome include: accordion, autoharp, banjo, bowed psaltery, cello, concertina, didgeridoo, drums of all kinds, fiddle, flute, guitar, hammered dulcimer, harmonica, harp, jaw harp, kazoo, mandola, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, nose flute, penny whistle, recorder, and uillean pipes. If it's not on the list, and it's acoustic, bring it along!
You don't have to play an instrument at all or sing at all well to join us. All we're looking for is interest and enthusiasm. All skill levels are welcome!
