Festivus Euchre Tournament - Prizes Awarded!

Celebrate Festivus with a Little ? Competition!

Unlike a traditional holiday party, a Festivus Celebration includes the labeling of easily explainable events as "Festivus Miracles" and displays such as Feats of Strength - as well as a Euchre Tournament to win bragging rights in Feats of Intelligence and Mental Agility.

The Airing of Grievances will be skipped because no one wants to hear complaints. If you are confused about how to celebrate or compete at a Festivus, check with Jerry Seinfeld.

We typically play "friendly" Euchre but in honor of Festivus, Feats of Intelligence and Mental Agility can only be displayed through participation in a Euchre tournament. Everyone is welcome to join in the holiday camaraderie but please do not sign up to play in the tournament or plan to play Euchre unless you are willing to follow the Euchre tournament RULES below.

Deadline to Register for the Tournament is Friday, December 6th.

If you want to attend but not play Euchre in the tournament, please enter "NO Tournament" in the comments after you RSVP. Please bring your own game - maybe one that highlights your own stunning Intellectual Feats? or participate in the other Festivus Feats such as finding the most "Miracles" or making the "MOST DELICIOUS" cookie to swap in the exchange? Or just come and eat good food and socialize.

We will be in the party room in the back, there is a parking lot on the right before the restaurant and the "Game" will be on multiple TVs for those who don't want to miss the Steeler's beating the Browns.

Prizes will be awarded for:
-the Grand Master of Intellect (winner of the Euchre Tournament),
-the Grand Perceptive (who labels the Most Miracles)
-the Grand Baker (baker of the most delicious cookie) by group vote!

Euchre Tournament RULES:

1. No talking across the table - this typically means you can't say things to indicate to your partner what your trump preference is or whether you have a lot of that particular suit, but for the tournament it will also mean you will need to remember what was selected as "trump" without being reminded. You can have your own memory device but you can't expect the dealer to keep track or remind you.

2. Play “in turn” which means you don't throw your card out of the regular order of play.

3. Once laid, once played - which means once you put a card on the table you can not change your mind and replace it with another.

4. No stealing the deal and No hang the dealer.

We will rotate players and play the game in teams but each player will fill out their own score card and the winner will be the player with the highest overall score.
