BPA Road from Skyline to Hwy 30, back Newton - Wildwood 4.8 miles; 1171’ eg

**DESCRIPTION:**
This is a 4.8 mi hike with a total elevation gain of 1171 ft - which indicates that this hike is not a stroll in the woods but a good workout. There are two viewpoints on the BPA Road with a gorgeous view of Mt. St Helens and Mt Rainier, obviously dependent on the weather (on a clear day you can see forever), the return over Newton Road and Wildwood Trail is a typical Forest Park hike under the tree canopy. It is a wonderful hike to give your lungs and legs a nice workout!

**OUR ROUTE:**
We start at the top of the BPA road parking area on Skyline Blvd (45.59259, -122.81463), hike down BPA Road (which is a fire road) to Hwy 30, where the BPA Road meets Newton Road (in this part not a road but a trail), hike up Newton Road to the Wildwood Trail where we turn west till we meet up with the BPA Road following it for the last quarter mile to the starting point.

Bring appropriate weather gear (check the weather forecast!), plenty to drink and some protein bars or equivalent.
