Monthly Backgammon Tournament

Our regular monthly backgammon series for 2024!

Depending on turnout, we will be splitting the group into multiple 8-person brackets (more brackets = more winners!), and playing 3-point matches in a semi-Swiss double elimination format. Double elimination means that you have to lose twice to be out of contention. After two losses, you are out, but welcome to hang around and play some pick-up games! Your $10 entry fee goes predominantly to prize money, with payouts for 1st, 2nd, and 1st in the consolation bracket (ties for 2nd). I do take a rake off each bracket to cover the costs of running the club.

In addition to the $10 entry, there are two (2!) optional side pools of $20 each. So if you feel like putting more on the line, we got you covered - side pool entries will be put into the same higher equity bracket to the extent possible. Players in the side pool are put into the same bracket, and play 5 point matches instead of 3 point matches...

Attend as many tournaments as you can and win as many matches as you can to be in the running for the much coveted "Player of the Year" award! Tournament wins all year long count towards your 2023 placement!

This is the biggest event we have monthly, and so a great way to meet a lot of other backgammon players - hope to see you there!
