Pop-up Portrait Party events are deigned to activate the power of art as a tool for self-discovery and personal growth. Everyone has a unique and personal story to tell and portraiture is a way to bring those stories to life visually through facial expression, body posture and use of colour. Hosted by internationally exhibiting contemporary artist Katie Mary, you will create portraits in real time by looking in a mirror, in a comfy and supportive community setting over the span of 2 hours.

What is a Portrait Party?
A Portrait Party is a unique and creative 2 hour art event. Participants come together to create and celebrate portraits of themselves and others, premoting postive body image and self love, using the vibrant and expressive medium of oil pastels. Each gathering is hosted by artist Katie Mary at comfortable pop-up locations, with an encouraging format focused on expressing and exploring individuality, color and symbolism as a microlearning experience and fostering a deeper sense of self through the specific genre of portrait art.Why join the Portrait Party?
- Creative Expression: You will be encouraged to express your unique personality and perspectives as well as physical features, through the creation of your portraits using paper, pencils, oil pastels and canvas.

Who is your Portrait Party artist host?
Meet Katie Mary...Katie Mary is a contemporary artist whose vibrant and evocative works have been exhibited internationally. Her dedication to the arts goes beyond her personal creations, as she passionately shares her expertise and enthusiasm through engaging community events like Portrait Party and in carrying out quality assurance for an awarding organisation for nationally accredited Arts qualifications (UK). With a First Class Honours degree in Photography as Art Practice studied at Nottingham Trent University, portraiture has been within Katie's creative remit for two decades. Since studying she has become adept as a multidisciplinary 2D Visual Artist, with portraiture interweaving as a personally joyful genre of art to explore, and thus the idea for Portrait Party came to fruition.

She believes that art should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or experience level.
