Mid-Week Mindfulness: Online Zazen Meditation just before closing your day

Details

Looking for a mid-week break to clear your mind?
Our online Zazen (Zen meditation) session is the perfect chance to pause, find calm, and experience mindfulness through Zen principles.
This session is for anyone feeling stressed, mentally tired, or just wanting a peaceful moment to reset before closing a day. Below are some common questions about the session.

Q1: What is Zazen, and what can I gain from it?
Zazen is a type of seated meditation from Zen practice, helping you clear your mind, empty your mind-space and be in the present moment.

Q2: How is the session set up?
We start with a short introduction to the basics of Zazen procedure, and then we move into the main meditation in a quiet and relaxing environment.

Q3: Do I need to attend an in-person Zen breathing session held in Copenhagen first?
It’s not required, but it is recommended! Our in-person Zen breathing sessions periodically held in Copenhagen teach a breathing method that makes Zazen even more effective. This technique helps bring more oxygen into the body, enhancing the calm feeling of meditation.

Q4: Who can join this session?
This session is open to everyone, whether you're new to meditation or experienced. It’s especially good for anyone feeling mentally tired or looking for a mindful break in the middle of the week.

Q5: How do I join, and what should I prepare?
Just RSVP on Meetup to save your spot. Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably, and come with an open mind. Get ready to relax, breathe, and enjoy a peaceful moment with us.

Q6: Should we sit on a pillow or a chair?
It is simply your choice. Traditionally, Zazen is practiced sitting on a cushion called a "zafu" on the floor. However, as Zen has spread globally, it has adapted to different needs and preferences, and many people now practice zazen seated on a chair. If you choose a chair, we recommend using a dining chair rather than an office chair. A dining chair provides more stability for the zazen posture, helping you stay focused and experience the full benefits of meditation.
