Welcome to Melb-Walks!
Are you someone that likes walking? Do you have goals to lose weight or just feel at your best?
This group is focused on brisk, 1-hour walks (power-walks) after-work. We hope people will consider this event when they think about all the different options they have for exercising after work :)
We are calling it power-walking but all we mean is walking at a faster pace to get your heart-rate up. Technique or form doesn't matter at all to us, ok?!
We do 2 events per week:
- 2-laps around the Botanical Gardens (Tuesdays at 6pm)
- Capital City Trail - along the Yarra (Thursdays at 6pm)
Both of these walks meet in Fed Square. We think this is a convenient time and place for most people who finish work at 5pm - from just about anywhere in Melbourne because you can just jump on a train and go to Flinders St Station.
We wait 10-minutes for people to arrive and we start walking at 6.10pm sharp - so don't be late!

These walks cost $2 each and you can pay cash or card (I will bring an EFTPOS scanner). Basically we are just trying to cover our costs.
Melb-Walks hosts a WhatsApp community called Melbourne Walking Club. There's different channels for people with different interests such as the type of walk or the time/location they are interested in attending. It costs $9 per month to join. So alternatively you can become a member of Melbourne Walking Club and then you can come to unlimited events without worrying about paying $2. You might even save money!
