The Yoga Womb at Sea Change Holistic Wellness Center offers pregnant and parenting moms a safe and nurturing place to explore yoga and to deepen the connection with themselves, with community and with their baby. The Yoga Womb is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School with RPYT teachers.
Why Practice Yoga?
The practice of yoga in pregnancy and parenthood encourages women to embrace their innate wisdom enabling empowered parenthood from the womb to the wonder years.
Yoga helps parents and children openly explore the mind, body, and spirit. Using a three-pronged approach good classes help women to increase their sense of well-being, while addressing the common aches and sensations of pregnancy and the postnatal body so students feel better each day; foster a compassionate community of friendship and support; and integrate childbirth education and parenting skills into classes to help the mother be more prepared and empowered for labor, delivery and motherhood.
Most healthcare professionals fully support women practicing yoga during pregnancy and beyond because they realize the countless benefits it has for the mamas-to-be and how it aids in a successful and safe birthing experience. Pre/Postnatal classes are appropriate and safe for all stages of pregnancy and practice and is a beautiful place for a beginner to commence their parenting and yoga journey.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that anything that turns our attention to ourselves is going to be healing for the body and really good for the baby
Classes include:
• The ABC’s x 2: Awareness and Acceptance, Breath and Balance, and Connection and Concentration
• Postures & sequences for each trimester of pregnancy, along with contraindications
• Pregnancy and postnatal A&P
• Postures that heal common discomforts
• Emotional changes of birth and parenting
• Fostering a deeper parent-child bond
• Meditations and chants
• Pelvic floor strengthening
• Childbirth preparation

• Mom practices a full flow with baby-in-arm
• Learn about the postnatal body, common discomforts and how yoga can help
• Infant massage and partner breathing are also a part of this practice

Whether you are coming to connect with your baby or to disconnect from all the baby talk, registries and checkups, you are giving your baby the best gift you can by practicing yoga.
This class is completely interactive and engaging filled with music and movement that will give both you and your baby a time to connect and a space to stretch. You will play peek-a-boo with your sweet wee one along with Itsy bitsy yogi stretches that can help aid digestion, relieve colic and
calm baby down. There will be plenty of postnatal yoga poses for mom that you can practice as your baby looks on and postures that incorporate your baby as you bounce them on your knee in warrior.Nursing/feeding and diaper changing is always welcome! 6 weeks- pre-crawlers. *Pre-registration is Required. Heather Simonson
Heather Simonson, LCSW, ERYT-500, RPYT, RCYT and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Sexuality Educator, is the founder and CEO of Sea Change Holistic Wellness Center. Heather’s background and experience as a nationally known trainer, sexuality educator and therapist and yoga teacher enables her to use a truly holistic perspective by fusing eastern and western derived techniques throughout her teachings.
As a Yoga Alliance Registered Prenatal and Children’s Yoga Teacher, Heather founded Long Island’s first and only Yoga Alliance approved Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training. Heather knows firsthand the power of yoga and the impact it has on pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. Yoga has been a true gift in Heather’s life, where her practice has become her mission off the mat, empowering others through their own inner wisdom. o encourage the depth of one’s practice, Heather offers private and partner yoga, specializing in partner prenatal yoga focusing on comfort measures for labor and delivery, and private yoga and reiki for reversing breech presentations. Heather has been awarded the honor of Long Island's Best Sex Therapist and also is one of the only Tantra Teachers in the area.As a mother of two amazing children, Heathers yoga practice has been at the foundation of her parenting and enabled her to have beautiful, natural, non-medicated births. Heather has been raising both her kids on yoga since in the womb and knows that the quality of their relationship, the strength in their character and the connection they share, is largely due to instilling these values. You will often hear her say that "Yoga is the answer to everything!"

We take plenty of time to share and address common challenges we face over the prenatal journey. Through strengthening and stretching, breath work, meditation, and relaxation you will enhance your confidence and nurture connection with your baby and enjoy the beauty of pregnancy and birth.
