A morning writing space in the company of others. A varied group - beginners; dabblers; professionals; highly published; not published at all; morning pagers; poets; memoirists; horror enthusiasts; flashers; pitchers; list writers; students. Doors open at 7am PT (10 ET). Arrive whenever you like. We each write in silence for the first hour. We break at the top of the hour (8 PT/11 ET) to talk, check in, share whatever comes up, then back at it. Feel free to drop in any day, at any time along the way, and stay as long as you like. We may read occasionally for anyone who wants to share what they're working on. Whatever you're writing, we're delighted to have your company.

This is an ongoing daily meeting. We meet every morning, Monday through Friday. PLEASE NOTE: The Zoom link below is new as of November 25, 2024. This link remains the same daily until February 18, 2025.

Come sit in group silence to meditate, contemplate or whatever calls you.

Structure (shown in minutes past the hour since there are different time zones)

* :00 Please enter our space muted. As much as we like to be friendly and acknowledge each other, please do so with a smile and wait until 20 mins past the hour for any speaking.
* :01 Sit in silence and stillness for 12 minutes. Leaving your camera on is encouraged unless you know you cannot be reasonably still (e.g., if you are moving about or eating breakfast please turn your camera off while doing so)
* :13 Coming back, we continue in silence for a few more minutes. We encourage you to turn your camera on unless you know you can't be reasonably still.
* :16 Optional sharing of individual reflections on today's silence that contribute to the group's purpose. For instance: “I tried a new prompt where the only thing to think about is ‘I wonder what my next thought will be’ and it was really helpful” or “I started out feeling very distracted by the birds my roof, but I was able to reframe the irritation into an appreciation of how wonderful It is to be this close to nature” or “I hadn't done a body scan meditation in a while and I forgot how powerful it can be.”
* :20 Optional casual conversation begins (feel free to stay and chat for as long as you want.)

A few reminders:

1. Please mute yourself when you join - we will begin the silence at 10:01 ET / 7:01am PT.
2. We have received feedback that it's preferred to sit quietly before the actual 12 mins start, so when you join, please refrain from "chit chat".
3. After the 12 mins are up, we will let everyone know (so you don't need to keep track of time yourself).
4. If you need to drop off early, feel free to just exit the Zoom (no need to let us know.)

I couldn't be more excited! This is your chance to see and explore our new home, and get some simple tips on how to use it. The new platform is called Mighty Networks, and it will open up a whole new world of community-building for us. Here are some of the things you'll be able to do. . .

* FFF>50 will be available via your web browser and also on an app (that actually works)
* You’ll have precision control of your notifications—both on your phone and in your email inbox
* You'll be able to initiate and engage with Discussions in a feed, upload articles of interest, post images, message one another in an organized structure
* There's a powerful search feature you can use to look for members, hosts, events, and topics in discussions and posts
* I’ve created what MN calls ‘custom fields’ to allow members to indicate their specific interests, profession, and/or identity. If you choose to select from these custom fields, your answers will be visible to any member who clicks your profile. These answers are optional, but when shown, will be another way to learn more about a potential friend.
* MN uses AI to introduce members to one another based on location and interests. (I love this! But you can easily opt out if you prefer.)
* If you need tech support, you can use their Need Help button to connect to their AI which is surprisingly great at finding the right answers to your questions right away. If this fails to deliver the answer you need, they reply to emails within 12 hours.

Greetings and warm wishes ladies. My name is Toni Berger, a certified life coach and positive psychologist. I've found that approaching sessions with a positive subject is very powerful.

This meeting is dedicated to women over 50 who are seeking to cultivate hope and positivity in today's ever-changing world. In a time when challenges can feel overwhelming, I believe that it is crucial to foster a nurturing space where women can share experiences, insights, and strategies to rediscover hope and purpose

Calling all animal lovers. We have booked an exclusive-to-FFF>50 tour at Animal Tracks Sanctuary in Agua Dulce, an approximate 45-minute drive from most parts of LA. They are literally closing their doors just for our visit!

Animal Tracks is a Sanctuary and forever home for exotic mammals, most of which come from the illegal pet trade. The 90-minute VIP tour will include animals from five continents. You'll feed horses and donkeys, and watch armadillos, monkeys, and other animals at close-up range. Plus you'll learn about the inhabitants, their care, and the global threats that jeopardize their existence.

The cost is just $25 per person (that's 50% discount just for FFF members!), and every penny of that goes to the care of the animals, so you're not just having a good time—you're supporting an important cause.
