FAQ (kindly read before joining):-
1. What do we mean by "progressive values?
Our progressive values are centered around gender equality, women’s rights, and social justice within Islam. We've created a safe space for women who don’t follow conservative practices, which includes supporting women’s leadership in religious spaces, freedom to interpret hijab/modesty differently, etc. We encourage open, respectful discussions on these issues.
2. Who is this group intended for?
This group is primarily for Muslim women who may feel alienated or uncomfortable in more conservative spaces. We welcome those who are exploring alternative interpretations of Islam and/or are seeking a community that is more aligned with progressive ideals.
3. Are traditional practices and beliefs respected in this group? Is it inclusive of all Muslim women?
While individual opinions are respected, our group is not centered around conservative Islamic views. That being said, even if you don't fully align with the views of this group, you're still welcome to join, as long as you approach other group members and discussions with tolerance and respect. :)
