What we’re about

This is a woman's group (centered in Renton/Eastside, but sometimes extending to Seattle) for the serial hobbyists, the absurdists, the curious, and the bored. The goal is to bring together those seeking to try new and interesting things, and expand the framework of what a friendship community can look like.

Sure, restaurants and breweries can be fun, but what about something more thrilling, like a cold plunge? Or whimsical, like foraging dandelions from a field to make tea? Or chaotic, like browsing Goodwill for a niche item to be secretly placed on a friend's bookshelf? There are seemingly endless things to try and experiences to be had, and the exploration is all the more rewarding when done with those who encourage, inspire, and laugh with you.

The events for this group will be versatile and will accommodate an array of different interests. While there may be something for everyone, the general weaving theme is women sharing in novelty.

*Note about attendance:*
The hosts of the this group are volunteering their time and energy to put on events for members to attend. Some events develop a waitlist, and some events have a minimum headcount below which the event may be cancelled or rescheduled. Therefore, no-showing or late cancellations can not only deprive other members on the waitlist from being able to attend, but also can waste the host's time by misleading them.
While things of course come up and sometimes you may not be able to make something, your RSVP is a commitment that you will need to communicate changes to. Please aim to update your RSVP within 12 hours of an event, and be sure to reach out to the host if cancelling within a few hours. Repeat no-shows may be removed from the group.

*****An Important Clarifying Point*****
While I specify that this group is for "women", those who are non-binary, agender, genderqueer, and/or other identities outside the binary are also welcome. The point of the exclusivity is to cultivate a space that keep members feeling comfortable, which includes being safe from romantic pursuits of the "heteronormative variety" (i.e. I am not trying to end up at an event alone with a straight cis-man, if you catch my drift).
